There are many types of different internet protocols such as: TCP- Short for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. A protocol for communication between computers, used as a standard for transmitting data over networks and as the basis for standard Internet protocols.
IP-An IP address is an identifier for a computer or device on a TCP/IP network. Networks using the TCP/IP protocol route messages based on the IP address of the set destination
UDP- A UDP is a communications protocol that offers a small amount of service when messages are traded between computers in a network that uses the Internet Protocol.
POP- An Internet point of presence is an access point to the Internet. It is a physical location that houses servers, routers, ATM switches and digital/analog call aggregators.
SMTP- a SMPT (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is an Internet standard for electronic mail (e-mail) sending.
HTTP- A Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is an application protocol for distributed, collaborative, hypermedia information systems.
FTP- The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to transfer computer files from one single host to another over a TCP-based network, such as the Internet
